Restorative approaches to justice.

The ACT has the third highest rate of Indigenous child removals and youth 10-17 in detention, and very high Indigenous adult incarceration and recidivism.

We know that jailing is failing, and different approaches are needed.

Come and hear Dr Holly Northam, Convenor of the Canberra Restorative Community and Dr Wayne Applebee, who developed the Circuit Breaker Program to support the rehabilitation of Indigenous prisoners and divert offenders away from crime.

With a new Assembly about to be elected we have an opportunity to prioritise this issue and hold our representatives to account for improving these appalling statistics.
