Reimagining How the ACT Assembly Might Work – Panel

15 June @ 18:00 - 19:30 AEST

Re-imagining Governance for the ACT Event Series, event 1:

Reimagining How the ACT Assembly Might Work: Looking Back, Looking Forward | Panel + Q&A |

Hosted by CAPaD & Active Democracy Bean

Join us for a rare and timely conversation with some of the ACT’s most influential political leaders as we reflect on 35 years of self‑government — and explore what needs to change for the future.

Panelists:

  • Michael Moore
  • Gary Humphries
  • Caroline Le Couteur
  • Kate Carnell (if available)
  • Another pending responses to invitation

MC: Genevieve Jacobs

Together, our panel will explore:

  • What is the history of self government in the ACT?
  • What was the original vision for a self‑governing ACT?
  • How has that vision played out?
  • What challenges have emerged?
  • What reforms are needed now — and into the future?

Audience ideas from the event will be collected and used as seed proposals for a public Pol.is poll running 16–25 June. The results will feed directly into the community workshop on 28 June (see those events following).

This is a chance to shape the next chapter of ACT governance.
