To what extent is local governance in Australia an institution for deliberative power-sharing? Zoom Event

Scope for democracy at the local municipal / town / suburb government level is rich. This session will explore how political power is shared via deliberation, especially democratic innovations, in three Australian local governments. I am also exploring the democratic, political and institutional conditions for power-sharing in Australian local governments.

Anne Jedzini will talk about their research in this area and open up discussion about how this knowledge can help strengthen democracy.
